Conference Analysing the Property and Construction Industry in Malta

The present and future situation of the property and construction industry will be analysed in depth during an upcoming conference being organised by the Property Malta Foundation. During this intensive half day event, the recent study on the Property and Construction Industry commissioned by the Malta Developers Association from KPMG, will be explored and debated with the participation of different commentators, economists, banks and other stakeholders. All those attending will receive a copy of the full report and have an opportunity to participate in the discussion.

The findings of the study will be explained in detail by Mr. Mark Bamber from KPMG, whilst Mr. Owen Grech, Senior Economist at the Central Bank of Malta will be analysing the property market, affordability and alignment with the real Maltese economy. The conference also includes a panel discussion dealing with topical issues including demand and supply, housing affordability, vacant properties and how the industry interlinks with the banking sector amongst other issues. Participants on the panel include economists Dr. Gordon Cordina and Mr. Mark Bamber, Executive Chairman of BICC Perit Charles Buhagiar, Mr. Albert Frendo, Chief Credit Business Development Officer at Bank of Valletta p.l.c. and Professor Alex Torpiano, Dean of the Faculty for the Built Environment at the University of Malta.

The Conference, which is being held on Thursday 30th November at the Grand Hotel Excelsior in Valletta, is also being addressed by the Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects, Hon. Dr. Ian Borg. The Minister for Finance Hon. Prof. Edward Scicluna, will be delivering his keynote speech in closing the Conference.
Attendance is open to the general public at a cost of 70 euro per person and 35 euro for students, including coffee breaks and lunch. The conference will be held in Maltese.
