A group of 42 entrepreneurs, including property developers, estate agents, financial consultants and other real estate professionals, had the opportunity to explore the very latest advancements in their sector and some of the fantastic developments being built in Saudi Arabia, during a business delegation visit to this country.
Organised by Property Malta Foundation and led by Minister for Justice and Reform of the Construction Sector, Dr Jonathan Attard, the trip provided a significant platform for Maltese industry operators to explore new business opportunities in the construction and real estate sectors.
During the visit, delegates participated in Cityscape Global, the largest international real estate investment and development event in the Gulf region, with more than 400 exhibitors and 500 speakers in 7 conferences. This exposure enabled Maltese businesses to connect with key stakeholders and engage in fruitful exchanges.
Minister Attard held high-level meetings with representatives from the Saudi Green Building Forum, the Minister of Municipality and Rural Affairs (Housing and Urban Development), and the Deputy Minister of Justice at the Ministry of Justice. His Excellency Dr Clive Aquilina Spagnol, Malta’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, was also present during these meetings, further enhancing the dialogue on collaborative efforts in sustainable construction practices and urban development.
The delegation successfully facilitated networking opportunities that are expected to foster long-term partnerships and collaborations between Maltese operators and their counterparts in Saudi Arabia. Participants reported a strong interest in Malta’s innovative construction practices and sustainable development initiatives, paving the way for future projects and investments.
Dr Jonathan Attard expressed his satisfaction with the outcomes of the delegation, stating, “Our visit to Saudi Arabia has opened new doors for further collaboration. The connections made here, particularly with key figures in the Saudi government, will undoubtedly benefit both Maltese businesses and the wider society.”
Mr. Sandro Chetcuti, Chairman of Property Malta, added, “We remain committed to learn from countries where construction and real estate development is progressing at a very fast pace, to meet the demands of present and future generations. Saudi’s projected population growth from 22 to 40 million by 2030 is seen as a welcome challenge that is being met with impressive lifestyle developments offering excellent green credentials and a unique lifestyle for residents. This delegation marks an important step in strengthening international ties whilst enhancing business opportunities.”
