As a software company focusing on real estate technology and providing management solutions for the vast majority of local real estate agencies, it was the natural next step for REAP CRM to develop a portal that brings all of the real estate agencies using its software solution, together under one portal. We spoke to its CEO, Alan Darmanin.

Starting off, how was the portal RealEstateMarket.mt born and how has it developed to what it is today?
We worked hard to launch a portal that is fresh and easy to use, aggregating property data from so many different agencies for property seekers. We proudly launched this on the 1st of May 2021. Soon after the launch, we were flattered to be contacted by the EAS (Estate Agents Section) within MDA and the Property Malta foundation, for a wider collaboration, roping in other agencies onto the portal.
What makes this portal different from others?
To start off with, this is the only real estate portal in Malta that can boast a collaboration with Property Malta, meaning properties listed on it, are given international exposure, since the primary focus of the Property Malta foundation is to promote Malta as an attractive location for property investments. Furthermore, realestatemarket.mt is integrated with agencies’ databases using real-time update technology, striving to show data that is relevant and up-to-date. This is very important in a fast-moving market.
What do people mostly look for when accessing your portal?
Searches vary significantly. The portal is proving popular with first-time buyers seeking entry-level homes, while we also note many searches for investment properties, especially in Gozo and upmarket areas in Malta.
Does the portal cater for owners or buyers? Or both? How is this achieved?
The portal aggregates data from a large number of estate agencies of all sizes in Malta and Gozo and therefore caters for buyers. Owners do not have the facility to advertise their properties directly on the portal, but do have the possibility to get in touch with their favourite agency to assist them with selling their property.
How does this portal make property search and buying easier for users?
Naturally, having the facility to run one search on one portal and getting the results from a huge number of agencies on one website is a massive win for property seekers. We have ensured that the search tool is as straightforward as possible for everyone to use, from any device. Last but not least, we have put in great effort to ensure that while we
aggregate data from a vast number of different agencies, we return results in real-time, at impressive speeds, for the user’s convenience.
Have you incorporated any new innovative technology?
The backbone of RealEstateMarket. mt is based on cutting-edge technology, paving the way for many more exciting features that we have coming up. The actual launch of the portal less than one year ago was exciting, but certainly not
the ultimate destination. We have a fantastic roadmap of new features which we are already working hard to deliver. Property seekers should keep tuned and visit often for cool upcoming widgets that will make their property hunting
more fun!
Where do you see the local property market in the next 10 years?
Well, as a PropTech company, we look at the property market from a technological point of view and we are confident
that the market is set to make huge leaps when it comes to embracing disruptive technology to make the property
buying and renting process more streamlined and efficient. From applying and receiving approval of bank facilities, to securing a property purchase, we will not be dreaming to say that all this can be achieved through an online process.
Our promise is that we will work hard to help the market get there!
